Plagued

He pushed his way into my mind,
triggered by a word or two.

Yet there it was, a full blown mare
night or day, in hours grew.

Until the waking, shaking feel
brought eyes to open, wide in fear.

Trying now within without
uneasiness to disappear.

So, sitting here upon the dread
alarmed with worry suited tight.

Restricted thoughts seam closed the will
awaiting morn to win the fight.

Bit by bit undressing layers
wishing sun to light the dark.

And lift the fog that binds my mind,
uncord, release his one remark.

M

Amazing how some words can linger and remind so vividly, very well expressed dear friend, may you sleep with warming dreams tonight. Enjoyed the read, great.

Sincerely
Rick

Yes, one word, and sometimes it lingers, like the plague -

Susan

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
