Some days seem made for memories, while some are just a blur.
I don't take life too seriously, my wife does, as it were.
Today's about the latter for the former Mr. Kleist,
'cuz when my thoughts get scattered, then, I'm skating on thin ice .

She's always making lists that I'm forgetting anyway.
A process that repeats itself a hundred times a day.
It's not that I'm disorganized, in fact, things work out fine,
about one in a hundred, it's those other ninety-nine.

Like yesterday I went to pick some stuff up at the store.
My wife was quite specific, she said "Items one through four,
may not seem that important, but, the opposite is true"
need I say more, forgot three four, and got a talking to.

An absent minded person can forget marital bliss,
on those special occasions it just all comes down to this.
There are certain things forgotten that cannot be reconciled
and will soon get you evicted from your present domicile.

Thou shalt not forget her birthday, that's a very heinous crime.
Should you fail to remember as I've done from time to time,
do not hesitate to offer a preposterous excuse,
'cuz there's nothing gonna save you from some well deserved abuse.

Thou shalt not forget the "big ones", I mean anniversaries.
Those times I did I'd much prefer incurable disease
had robbed me of my vision for at least a couple nights,
the blind could even tell you it was not a pretty sight.

Some days seem made for memories, while some are just a blur,
and some, by all that's holy, I wish never did occur.
The Mrs. wouldn't buy it, she maintains there's no excuse,
more befitting of a epitaph, sincerely, Dr. Moose.

Dr. Moose,
I like this and agree there should be a third commandment-no appliances.  Sweepers are the worst, although they do make for a good black and white stil-life!
   A pleasure to read.

LOL at Toe's link. Better luck next year?
BTE, that's what those good-old-fashioned wall calendars are for, where you circle the special dates in bright colors. Then all you have to do is LOOK at the calendar once or twice a week.

Mysteria,
Thanks, Oh No! did that once or twice too!
Doc

Sunshine,
Give a man enough string and he'll hang himself. Thanks anyway.
Doc

Martie,
Thanks sweetie, been married 22 years now, wrote this just for the humor, and the rememberances. Yes I did forget, but, not anymore!
Doc

Miscellanea,
Nope, sorry, can't agree, tough enough to remember two! But, you're both right, no appliances!
Doc

passing shadows,
Thanks and back atcha ( got no smilies on der puter )
Doc

Toe,
Thanks pal, went there, done that, even did the " Biggie fries ". Somedays ya just can't do nothin' right.
Doc

Midnitesun,
Thanks. In my world, I'm not allowed to touch the official documents, like, calenders, check-books, money, and, ya know,
I kinda like it that way. It gives me more time to write ridiculous poetry.
Doc

Thanks to all.
