walking the surreal

I come alive
beneath crescent moon
smiling in the eve
of a cool summer’s night
walking the road alone
with only the moon and me
and the beauty of the hills
for company

Mother Moon
she sings to me
her aria
of the shades of slumber and dreams
blanketing the blue hued lands
with her velvet smooth melody
a lullaby of enchantment
beckoning me follow

‘tis magic which flows
from the heavens as divine nectar
an elixir of celestial bliss
intoxicating in its sustenance
flooding my veins
so that I feel
drunken upon its essence
heady with its kiss

I find myself dancing
feet weaving steps
of delight and felicity
bewitched by the night sprites
and the music of the moon
as I travel the road
leading to my room
where sweet slumber awaits

Beautiful poetry!  Reads like a movie.  I could visualize your walk in the moonlight.

Thanks P.S. and JL.  It's amazing what being in the country will do to a person's soul.  Truly, I found myself dancing down the road to the music of the moonlight.

So,  this is what it felt like?  (Checking
his pockets for enough money to fly west)

Well, maybe next year or the year after.

Such a feeling your inspiration covered you
with.  And you wrote of it very well.

Susan

Such walks are possible even in the middle of the city...it just takes a country kind of mind.  I loved this!

Barry -  yes, you should come west and see what beauty is held in the magic of these mountains.  Truly treasure is held here.  And the variations of landscape are breathtaking.  Thank you for your kindness.

Paul, thank you for your kind reply as well.  I appreciate it.

Martie, yes sometimes it is possible.  Somehow, though, when held in the arms of mother nature, I feel the most at home.  Thanks.

Hugs to you all --   Susan
