It's 3 am and
Yet again, I can't sleep
So I sit here, pen in hand
And gaze out my window
Looking for my inspiration
Which way would I have to look to be looking towards you?
Do your eyes wander to the stars as mine do?
Are we both looking at the moon?
Boy, that sounds cliche
I'm not thinking straight
You've got me dizzy
Like I was on the tilt-a-whirl
Good thing I like that ride
Maybe tomorrow I'll get some sleep
But for now I'll just sit here
Seeing your face on the moon
Wondering where you see mine

I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to...

Barbara, this is so romantic and beautiful. I can't think of anything better to do on a night when I can't sleep than to look at the moon and dream.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Hello barbaraj. This is the very first of your poems I have read and I thought I would comment on it. First the title is wonderful. Having suffered from insomnia since I was 16 I can relate. I take 210 milligrams of medication every day just to get 3-4 hours sleep a night. Secondly I love the way you penned the thought process. Honest and sincere. That always makes for great poetry. Wonderful job.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

I like this.  Trust me,  you are not alone
in this quandry of thought...  Imagine how
many have stared into the heavens over the
centuries...I cannot even begin to imagine
it.

Been there, hate that.  It boggles my mind to think I look at the same moon that ancient historical people have looked at.

hope you have a better sleep tonight

Very enjoyable read.
The world will never end.  The age will change, as will we all.  And, I too look forward for that.
God Bless!!
