Listening to every heart

Last Wishes

To take such thought and healthy care
and leave a wish though not on air,
to write it down in black, and white,
and leave it for our loved ones’ sight

Last Wishes

Do not now try to make your amends
do that while living and joyfully tend
to the thrills of your life and joys of your days
relieve all strife from all your ways

Last Wishes

And family! Now it is up to you
to do what this writer intended you do!
Take the black and write of word
heed it serious and be assured

Last Wishes

That the writer gave long, careful thought
to all that is written, all that is wrought
and made these wishes quite carefully
to be followed, yes, cheerfully!

Last Wishes

Now please read right vigilantly
of these wishes I give to thee
remember me for who I was, and
what words are left, give them pause ~

Last Wishes

Keep all things simple, plain and fine
a slender box, one made of pine
invite my friends, and family too
to send me off to a hill with view

Last Wishes

Keep the atmosphere cheerfully light
don’t think you send me into the night
and there is one thing I’d ask of you
to keep my memory in your song so true

Last Wishes

Once that all is all said and done
remember these last words of one
bring a chime, or two, or more
and leave them here, the wind to explore

Last Wishes

For in the evening when dusk is nigh
and light breezes come from on high
a chiming ring I would have heard
as angels sing their lovely words

These are, my last wishes

I don't know how you do it, poet
But some of your poems stab me right through the emotional heart, this is one of them.
Nonmortal wounds, with a suffering that is soooo... joyous..
I must be a masochist at heart, lol
Please keep stabbing, I am enjoying the pain...

Of course I like your lighter stuff also, that goes without saying....

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

Mmm I like this Sunshine. A really great piece. Death is such a frightening thing...and how we say good-bye is almost as important as how we lived. Me...I am so frightened of death that I will go screaming and kicking into the beyond. (Wink!) You just may have to look really really hard to see it. LOL!

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Dawn, were that all passings a good song...thank you, dear...

EV2 - I think some of us reach an age, where we realize that the party really isn't here, but there.  I use to feel like you...but change is good...and not to worry...you've a LONG way to go!

serenity, may all who face such things, have a peaceful time...

Ford, your comment reminds me of The Thorn Bird...and I could never have imagined a more beautiful remark from you.  Thank you!  I'll try to make sure you are never disappointed.

Iliana, there are all kinds of tears, don't we know.  Thank you.

There are words to describe solids of many faces.  Tetrahedron and decahedron are two.  I just don't know the word for the many faces of your writing, but each side glows.
This is a beautiful tale. KJ

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

You didn't issue a BJ hankie alert....

Thanx KJ...this is a beautiful repost.  One
which needs to remain at your doorstep,
that they might pick it up and read it that
day,  early...

Dust to dust, ashes to ashes...
It sure hurts to see someone close leave us...
Hope you'll recover from the pain soon...
