My Double Crown

My double crown of laugh and frown
Is slowly, slowly wearing down
I’ve shrunk within the throne I sit
And now too loose my fit and wit

It’s past the reign of green when young
I’ve lost my friends, less one by one
And though I’m strong within the core
The fuel that’s left is less not more

I have no fear of goodbyes bow
But trepidations of the how
I’d skip the endings filigree
And ask for naught but dignity

I’d leave to those would think of me
My paintings and my poetry
A smile a hug the thought of peace
A fathers love, forever’s lease

And when you hear the reapers fife
I would you leave your song of life.

Sy, Sy, sweet Sy ...
the humility and tenderness of this touches places deep....You are such a doll...
and yeppers...we crowned you King of the Couplets a long time ago

NO NO NO, your still 10 feet tall and wit
well, it's sharper then before

It’s past the reign of green when young
I’ve lost my friends, less one by one
And though I’m strong within the core
The fuel that’s left is less not more

There just going on before you cause you've got things left to do, right here with us...your PIP Friends!!!!

I’d leave to those would think of me
My paintings and my poetry
A smile a hug the thought of peace
A fathers love, forever’s lease

Yes, so much so, your love to all who dearly
need you, including your PIP family

And when you hear the reapers fife
I would you leave your song of life.

Yes, nodding, we will all leave our songs
behind for others to hopefully flourish by.

Sy, you are a wonder, what would PIP would be without your morning cheer? And I hope Randy doesn't get upset, but I'm going to give you a very tight friendship hug...

and kiss

Happy happy Friday!

Greetings and salutations, Sir Sonneteer!

Mr. T. ~ that was a brilliant piece of writing! It also pulled at my harp strings. I was so moved by your words, that tears welled in my eyes ~ LITERALLY!

You are such a phenomenally gifted poet. You dip your quill into an inkwell that is full of wisdom, experience, love, pain, joy ~ and starlight.

I think I will leave my song of life...good idea.  Now for that double crown....I have to say that you spread more smiles than frowns on any given day from my perspective!   .......jo

Seymour, a wonderful read, stay strong in core dear friend, they that pass have not come back to see me or tell of what awaits, It may just be now, so write on my friend and paint your picture of a lifetime, for oneday they will be worth more than gold, but till then remember you are a treasure to us all and we all walk the same path. You are gifted with your words, enjoyed.

Sincerely
Rick

Sire,

My love of thee is most strong as a friend.
I take thy words and caress them.  For they
feed my own.  I understand very clearly the
emotions of life as we watch others pass
before us...as some remain with us,  though
only a memory.

Cherish them,  cherish life as well....for
we shall cherish you forever...

You have been such a gift...you ARE such
a gift.
