Summer swam into their hearts, these two.
As heated winds fanned a glowing fire behind
their eyes.  Autumn would come soon, bringing
the spiral of brown and gold jewels onto the
earth as lovers squirmed atop a blanket.

Such were the days of Jack and Alana..
Though she grew ever slightly, the watermelon
beginning to fill before the ripening
spills forth the fruit.

“Do not squeeze the Charmin;” was a thought that
came to mind...

Alana still held within her some slight fear of
abandonment.  Having lost a father to divorce,
never having seen or heard from him for over
25 years.  How many nights had she jumped
from her bed, running downstairs to the door.
Opening it....to find nothing more than a moth
continuously bashing it’s head against the
porch light....She left the light on night after
night until finally the bulb died of old age
and repeatedly being turned off...a sad face
staring past, into the waking sun....one
which gave solace to her.  But that memory
would burn bright within her...for many
a night to come....

Jack watched her out of the corner of his
eye, trying hard to not let her know that
she was being watched....this went on
for minutes until his neck finally could
no longer endure the strain.

Thinking back to the letter, now tucked
away in a private part of his credenza.
Remembering the rhyme that she had
written upon the page...reflecting on
the puzzlement of the moment...so
afraid she would not be seen again.
He now understood her fears....and
why she always ran from them...

Whence love finds the wrench of one’s
heart and whispers to the soul....all
else shall be but small....as bells of
love now softly chime...continuously toll...

And as night began to darken the
window’s sill....the skies transformed
into so many sequins....Jack took her
hand and gently brought her into his
arms....holding her tightly, ever tightly
as rains fell upon a quivering lip....
and I love you was felt long before
it was ever heard...

This is a great observation of the truth of love, so often felt for so long before ever spoken.

I'm so glad you were dared, and dared to meet the challenge.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
