Lantern Lights

On passing highway lantern lights
There’s always one shows brighter bright
One that sends a rosy glow
That lights you up from head to toe

Its yield it seems a greener green
With fields of flowers never seen
Butterflies of mystic flight
And fireflies that light the night

The sky is lit with hews of gold
And odors that entice your bold
The essence of a love so deep
It puts you in a magic sleep

It holds you in a spell of goal
Creeps into your very soul
Reality is put aside
For ecstasy of loves abide

A coupling that forms a core
That takes you to forevermore

And if in forevermore I should find
a more willing, witty, clever mind
I know that my heart would heave a SIGH...
for I would meet poet, eye to eye...

The title made me think of fireflies... the poem makes me think of where I'd like to be... and with whom. *S* This is a delight, my friend... well done! *S*

This sparks a memory for me, of going home to Florida after many years. I couldn't get over how sweet and furry the air smelled! Thank you for the ponder, Sy, you've brightened my day.

What a beautiful day you wrote of!
And a beautiful poem.
Of course, written by a poet of the same measure
Loved it.

Always, Alyssa

A beautifully sincere write that lifts the spirits up no matter who you are.  It was quite the passionate poem that I enjoyed this morning.
