Conditioning

And with it I feel the strain
of the everyday, regretting
how the intent always shifts
to touch me in my climb
that has taken so long
and leaves little doubt
to where I am  headed.

I chance more than should be allowed,
and a restless sleep masks my losses,
feeling shallow, always, in its wake.

I strain my eyes through the prisms,
distortion ( natures gift )and in its teachings
I can accept the imperfections
knowing the consequences of.

I am walking in the rain,
the voice of the night telling tales
fabricated for my ears only.
And as I compete for my own voice,
I am conditioned to the morning fog.

Enjoyed

I’m often in a fog of mourning myself,

To accept the imperfections

certainly is challenging, isn’t it?

and here you write me yet again:

This touches, dear lady... I think many of us know that fog. Excellent write!
