An irresistible invitation to danger,
creation has coupled this fiery blaze
with both desirous need and adore.

One taste is to captivate;
a thrill time and time again,
life blands without them.

Burning from both ends
veins ignite, forever after to be cursed
by the thrill of the flame.

Society’s requisite of a superficial
smolder, torturous inside an already
scorching subsistence.

Plucked, before maturity’s cooling
can lend freedom from the fire,
death hardly blinks when it passes
the flame to the next one.

In one’s hand or wildly growing
they are previously chosen, short lived,
and fated to be followed by a
mourn filled season.

How very true this is of many spicy treats... we may not have intended to even nibble... but once we do, we're hooked... and forever craving... And a taste is worth the heartburn. *S*

Liking this on many levels, my friend... excellent work! *S*

thank you all, how do you say magnetic and gone too soon... but still pulling on my heart...just don't have the words yet to say how special he was, and how it hurts for him to be gone...thank you for being my support while I try

This poem of yours is amazing.  Your words define individually and collectively the tone and the message incredibly well throughout your piece.  My tired eyes stopped to take in every word.  Your writing is amazing as is your talent.  This reminded me of an old song (and I suppose I'm dating myself) called, "Only the good die young".  I sympathize with your loss but I think writing this impassioned and this perfectly created goes a long way accepting and moving forward without letting go of the "pictures".  I will be watching for more of your writing as you are so obviously worth reading and taking in.
