The spoon twirled around within the confines of
the manly abode of beans...the sting of heat bringing
to ears a slight sip..as eyes stare the floor and a
beat pauses in ache’s linger.

Those words, said perhaps billions of times in
thousands of ways...sharing sadness and joy,
often intermingled....and perhaps sheer terror
and fright...as well.

A husband would sweep her off of her feet, a
father might cry of joy....or pain as well, hopeless
pain of knowing a child bears a seed of life.

Jack sat, pondering that which he might say,
not knowing what words would bring solace
to the shivers of her shoulders, or quell the tide
of salt laden drip from blues...so beautiful to him.

What might the stallion say to a mare awaiting the
foal....when the snip has taken from him that which
might bear fruit within the loins of a mare?

Jack stood from his chair, slowly pushing it back
and away from the table...His mind wished to hear
the click again....only now, the click would
bring to heart a wailing of lips....within and beyond
the door...

He walked slowly, cautiously toward the door,
holding the smooth cold knob between fingers that
trembled slightly.....his tongue against a palate,
fearful of speech...

And then.....he turned....returned,   reached out softly,
brushed away another tear....taking her into his
arms....holding her softly....whispering softly....

“When the dance does bring to bear the beauty of
one so vividly rare....  A man shall stand....beyond
the door...your shadow of one....”

“Forever and more...till my death does bring to
my heart your tears once again...”

They held each other....they wept...two shadows
apart...now bonding as one.

Bravo -- great ending.  I love happy endings.  Thank you, dear Sir, for the journey.

You know, Susan....that your latest addition
to your list of tools might have had some
slight degree of ...what is the right word?

A slight degree of errrrrr...you know what
I am trying to say...

Thanx,  hope your weather stays better than
our own today....  Pouring rains..intermittent...

That "snip" brought back a wonderful memory...

of a couple I once knew several years ago...

he had been "snipped" and she? LOL..."tucked" because between the two of them, they had six kids.

This second marriage was going fine until she ended up expecting.

Well, he was furious...and she was aghast, having been not only faithful, but very much in love with her husband...

finally calmer heads prevailed for them BOTH to go in and get checked out.

Her "tuck" didn't take quite as well as the doctors had thought...and he?  LOL...well, after a few tests, it was determined that neither did his!  He snapped a few suspenders in that it "all grew back..." and what a man HE was!  LOL...

There are times that He works in mysterious way.  And apparently, that baby was meant to belong to them...

Don't you love it when stories work out with happy endings?  Not all do...

Good Job, BJ!

Thanx Sun...enjoyed your input....quite
similar...and this love shall not die
between the two...even through adversity
and shame...  for love can forgive...as it
has within this little story of mine.

Jo,  letting you girls have a few moments of
dreams,  of wonderful things that whisk you
away to far off places...that bring a sigh,
and sometimes a tear....is the greatest gift
given and received....

Magnus darling man, dear man, thank you, a happy ending when I didn’t believe one was possible. You’ve restored my faith and I’m smiling muchly.

Perfect, a sigh of wonder just so perfect
