The fluff of you, so inviting to one’s eye
as a brief cough awakens me.

Tears have fallen endlessly through my
waking fears and slumbering dreams.
Lions dance and prowl the lamb in
their counter-clockwise stalk of ravaged
earth....as silence speaks the lamb.

Oh, but to put the hesitance of a
step in it’s rightful place, that I
might walk swiftly on the morrow’s
dawn.    For the lead of me binds
my shoes to the weathered steps.
I can not walk away again....

For I must be the roaring lion
of soul and meek eyes of the lamb
that will stand and brace as the
lion’s roar rises steadily
to a scream, one as never
you have heard....ever before....

And darkness comes over all that waits.
The lion pants and the lamb sleeps
briefly the eye before the last howl
deafens my heart’s raging beat as
my lungs scream in silence, never
heard....never seen...and waters
lap my fearful thirst...once more.

Magnus darling man, dear man, oh how this echoes in the places within. I’m awed by this, truly awed, and left speechless

For once in my life I’m struck dumb, there’s nothing but wow in my vast vocabulary that can convey the powerful way this speaks to me

Wow.  This poem packs an emotional whallop.  So many excellent lines, each carrying their own weight.  And the images it stirs in my mind are crisp.  Well done.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

I can feel the scream in this, BJ.  This leaves me pondering mysteries of the times we live in, the lion and the lamb.  *hugs* ...jo

I enjoy your roars as much as your whispers.
