Lost in thought

Deeper, deeper
breathe it in.
Let oxygen take heed of sin
and cleanse my aching now...

Let me fall
a little ways.
Let me sink
into the grave...

Not a lot is left
inside.
All there is
just wants to die.

Crying on a wooden floor
splinters in my knees.
Bent to see
if skies still weep
when You look down on me.

God, just take me home tonight.

Pray this sinner
to be kind
and
take away
these eyes of blind.

Hand me hope
if I should live.
I'm fallen,
and I can't forgive
them, Lord.

Steal this,
what's left in me.
I'm a slave and longing free.
So show me what to do...

Sadly, I think so many of us understand this poem and have felt the depths of such a sorrowful desire.  You have expressed this well.  Thing is, time brings change.  So if one can only hold on to hope-- and find someone to talk to that can give a better perspective -- and feel the hands of love that are stretched out to them --

may prayers be answered

Susan

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

He said to forgive...for this forgiveness
shall heal the soul of they who bear the
cross of hurt within....

Well written GG,  you write so deeply,  it
is a gift you should always carry and
continue to share.

Honeybunny, many of us have been through some pretty tough times and prayed similar prayers.  What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, GG.  You already know this.  I think there is a special task for you, sweetheart.  Everyone has their gifts, and I already see two....1) your wonderful writing skills; and 2) you have great love within you.  Keep us posted, okay? & love, jo

muted,
thank you for your words. Yes... I'll keep praying and prayer harder. You take care.

Susan,
You're all too right. Many, many people understand and that was one of my goals, to explain this in a way fitting to more people then just me. Glad that I did, but still sad that this is such a widely known feeling. I'm not so sure really that I don't hold on to hope now, it's more that my hopes just aren't average ones. Since they aren't, I realise that I really do set myself up for this... Thank you so so much for your reply

Always, Alyssa

Magnus,
Yeah, and I know all that is true. Forgiveness really just seems to be my biggest downfall right now. I'm working on it though, the trick is forgiving faster then they give me reasons to need to forgive lol ...And thank you for your compliments. It's an honor to hear that from a poet I respect as much as you

Dix,
Thank you lady. Love you, too

Jo,
I imagine, eventually, I'm gonna be strong... Someday! I've got it coming to me I'm sure lol. And I know there are things for me to do... I just wish other people did what they were supposed to, y'know. Not that I always get it right... but I try, and I just still don't think that's too much to ask of people who claim to love you. That's life, though, right? Humans fail us and God doesn't ...thank you for your always warm and inspiring replies. Take care.

Always, Alyssa
