I can't do this anymore....it's too painful.

Blind Dogs

It’s the blue...that cataract vacancy
which gives up eyes weeping
fixedly on drops of familiarity
hemorrhaging from arterial memories
coaxed into the synapses milk bone patient
connecting commands with rewards
and pats with love.........
then it's over.

my heart, it lies upon the floor.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

*sobs*
I have no kids, I have pets. It is so rewarding to see them grow and to grow with them... and so very, very hard to let those unconditional friends go. Harder still to imagine a life ending in darkness, having known only cruelty as answer to that love.

ack, I gotta find a kleenex...

Hug you

Susan and Pell....thank you.

I really had to rewrite this one....I wanted to do that poor little dog some kind of justice.

Contabo, you really are going to make me cry.  This poor creature.  But, the poem was better....even though it really, really is heartwrenching.
