For so long it lay it your pocket
Heated by the warmth of your skin
A token of your youth
and a reminder of your faithfulness to love others, strangers

This strange coin you presented to me
and told me about its constant reminder to you
And now as you are old
  but not too old
You give your gift of love
that you had planned for so many years

And left me with the gift of your story

Thank you Eor - it's my momento now, now it sits with me and inspires me

Miscellanea - He's an inspiring fellow, sometimes you just meet people who are so special in their own way that they would never even know you thought so highly of them...

I understand this better than you might guess as 35 years ago, I was given a similar present.   ....jo
