Wilt

In pain I watched the flower wilt
Slain with wear and not with guilt
Drooping o’er the lip of stage
Dieing in the grip of age.

And shadows shrunk upon the floor
Breaking down the changing awe
Surrendering its grace of space
Its splendor of Chantilly lace

And paler did the light descend
Augmenting sadness of the end
As fantasy propelled the show
This curtain of scenario

And weariness embraced my soul
The wasting of a lovers shoal
The dimming of a bright Harrah
The ending of a guiding star

For now my ship has lost its way
And skies have turned from blue to gray

A painful impression of decline. There is a grace and dignity to this though. A fine write.

I can't help it, I'm thinking of Fay Wray...

Outstanding sir Sey,
and I'm hoping your skies are filled with
blue today, not gray.
Morning hugs.

from every lost flower another one buds...and it is essential that we recognized the last one...taking great care for love.

Thank you Sy, as always for your wisdom and gentleness...

If they are right with the forcast we should only be geting wind and rain where I live. Thanks for the concern.

JM,
If they are right with the forcast we should be in for some wind and rain in fortlauderdale. I'll let you know if there is any change. Glad all is well with you and yours, WWRS

Good morning??? Mr. T.???

Oh my, Sir Sigh! The other flowers in your garden may be wilting, but you are a magnificent sunflower! ~ taller, hardier, brighter and showier that all the rest of those shrinking violets!Flower  Flowers

Even Apollo would admire your radiance! ~ Except on one of your gray days!

Loveya,
EA

I cannot help but feel the sadness with this.  It is a sad thing that flowers wilt all too soon...flowers of any kind.  But the good thing, I think, is that they grew, flourished, drank in the sun, beautified their surroundings, and sometimes blossomed, right?  Right!   ....jo
