Blind Dogs

It’s the blue eyes that give up staring
at everything naked bumping
into walls on four legs
running in chasing circles after
tails perfectly beyond grasping straws
held by an evil hand
dealt in a cruel game...

I saw a blind dog today.....yet this means so much more, and says little to explain it.

Oh, that is so sad ~ and infuriating at the same time! If the truth be known, it is the dog that sees ~ not that "man"!!!

That must have been painful to witness!

Very descriptive, and very sad; yet mysterious, too.

Sad.  And yes, I can see the layers.

Thank you EA, iliana and Susan.

I am not happy with how this turned out and will rewrite it tomorrow.

this is sad, made me cry, my friend,my pet, my dog of 13 years went blind the night before i  had to make a hard decision,to let  him go. i sat all night with him on floor so he wasnt bumping into walls,as he did when it happened, and half the day. so so sad.

it speaks so much in so few words.....

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone though you're still with me
I've been alone all along..Now I'm bound by the life you left behind

Thank you all for reading. I really did see a blind Boston Terrier on Wednesday at an elderly lady's home. I know she doesn't want to let him go.

I wanted my poem to be based on that and yet meaning something else. I let my emotions for the "other" meaning cloud the real reason I wrote this.

I hope you will be moved by the rewrite.
