It's all becoming clearer now,
why nothing has worked out.
I try to live my life by faith,
and you live yours by doubt.

The world has crumbled on our feet
and taken all we knew.
You took yourself away from me.
I lost respect in you.

I know you try to tell me that
you're all I've ever had...
Just don't call me your daughter,
'cause I won't call you Dad.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Alyssa, please hang on to that faith of yours.  Dove 2

Linda,
my faith in God is the one thing I won't ever let go of. He's always been faithful to speak to me, not necessarily when I wanted him to, but when I needed him too... and that is something I won't ever give up.
You're so right about the parents. It's sad, and hard... but, y'know, I guess I never really had them, so it shouldn't hurt so much to have lost them. Oh well. Thanks much for your always kind replies

Jo,
Thank you . I have a couple of the best friends in the world. And soon I may have the opportunity to be a full time nanny to a few beautiful kids. I'd be able make the money I couldn't have from other jobs because of my health, and finally afford to buy a house and get the emancipation I need. I'm trying to be hopeful and keep the strength I need. I'm just so grateful for the encouraging words I find from people like you. So, thank you

Always, Alyssa

GG - my heart aches for you.  But I see you know the Father of your soul well, and He will always be there for you.  It is so encouraging to see such strength and the feel the continued hope that seeps from your words past the heart ache.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Tears fall from my eyes as I read this and I think to myself what a strong young lady! Beautiful write, full of such pain but such strength...few could go through what you do and come out as strong as you have. Keep your faith always as I know you will and things will work out. Sometimes not the way we want them to, but how He wants us to I know you know that though. As for your Dad, his lessons have to be learned, before he can realise his mistakes. I pray that he does though. Take care hon and keep your head high...you should be so proud of who you are!

Take care,
Amy

Allysa,
  This verse hit home.

"It's all becoming clearer now,
why nothing has worked out.
I try to live my life by faith,
and you live yours by doubt."

I grew up in a very positive environment, full of nurturing.  Negativism has surrounded me in the past twenty or so years, in effect, my faith is dwindling, and the doubt is increasing.  You are a beacon of light and strength to me.  I'll follow Marge's lead and tell you I love you, too.  You are a very special young Lady.  (Someday, he'll get his act together.)  I know what you're talking about.  Sometimes my daughter is much wiser than her parents.  Frightening thought!  Smile sent.

Susan,
I can't say my words are always filled with hope... but there is a definitely hope within, I just lose sight sometimes, too. This is just one of those times I need extra patience to wade through the days. Thank you so much for you kind reply

Aimster,
yeah, you're right... it just really gets to me when he continues to spiral down and down, and doesn't see it at all. And confusing, to figure out what my role is as both his daughter and as someone representing Christ. Ahh I don't know. I just hope I'm not presenting myself as anything I'm not. God can make it good, though, right? Thank you so much for reading, and replying so graciously...

Marge,
I wouldn't say my faith has served me well... God, though, He has ...your reply brings me to tears. Good tears! Guess I'm hard to have as a daughter, though. People tell me I expect to much, but all I really expect is for someone who claims to be something, to at least TRY to be that. I expect people to try. Anyway.. thank you so much, Marge, and I ove you, too

cathy,
your reply brought me to tears, too. Also good ones. Just don't think I'm something I'm not, I'm scared to misrepresent myself... if you're looking for positivity, I'm definitely not the one you'll find it in. My father has proven himself to be living the life of a hypocritical liar and gets mad at me for not following his path... and I'm ashamed. I think all of us have dealt with similar things... and we all struggle to keep the rest of the world from tearing down who we are and what we believe. I know you've got the strength for it, too! Thank you for being so kind... and? I love you, too

Always, Alyssa
