Summer's Expansion

Words have become my companion,
assisting me in living.

My intimate, confidant and familiar counterpart,
edging me towards that which seems so distant,
yet known to be within reach.

Whether a flame of thought
or a bright spot in my day,
those direct rays open me up,
licensing me to deviate from the past.

Muse me all you want,
you know who you are, reflecting
and building word dreams to add
to the mood of me...
when lost in thought.

and yeah, it's ok, to move forward, you've got a darn wise muse there with you...pretty terrific if you ask me, but then, whose asking....smiles and hugs...another good one to savor....

silken words drift in soft rustle
along edges of darker lines
drawn by sun and played
in time against the rougher one
that sometimes
lie

Scratch them then
in burlap

or in softer cotton time

of lazy days with tea
to pass the patterned trace
of word my friend

words upon a line

passing shadows
