Sing lullaby of peeper frogs against the damp night air
In Samba to the firefly, alight of flicker fair
The scent of evening floats upon the ruffled lily pad
With blossom bowed in reverence and hushed a twilight tad
A gurgling of a lipid lake sets baseline choral call
To dip upon the temperature preemptive of the fall
At home in tunes of fragrant sounds collected at my door
By sip auspicious pleasure brewed and worthy waited for
The tender step of fawn flash white the shadow in the hedge
A fuller figure on the moon to rise by inch and sedge
The steady hum of thought wave plays collecting every drop
That fills the scenes of peacefulness the bottom to the top
An archers arms poised readily in treetops flirty spread
The garments offered stars discreet before this twilight bed
All this the landscape of a wish let loftily to be
My palace with a porch the place as far as I can see

Mmmmm, this takes me back to evenings on the screened in porch on the Bayous outside of New Orleans.  Man I loved it there --

Thanks for the sweet recollections.

I believe you are psychic!  Wait until you read the poem I was just about to post when I saw your title here.  Your poem was absolutely grand and it confirms to me that "that steady hum of thought" reaches further than I thought!  *grin* ....jo
