He stood solemn as a tombstone on
a mist covered morn.  Reflecting of
past years they had shared.

The letter, lying silent, serene upon the
hearth, he avoided the sight of it.  Hoping
it might just be part of a dream.

The flicker of a night’s fire glowing on
mahogany walls,   dancing peacefully,
bringing music to his ears as her hair
brushed a cheek...back then, before
the click of a door, one placed square
in the center of his heart.

The softness of a rug, once having drawn
them to it’s folds, bringing an endless kiss
to inhale their passions.    So soft, this
place where they once lay,   now...so
chilling, no longer warm.

He touched the letter, feeling the lifeless
texture of it, trying to count the pages
within,   smelling the exterior, aching to
find a trace of her upon it, wondering if
she had used her tongue to seal the flap.
Perhaps, perhaps not.

Gently, ever gently...he kissed the seal,
shuddering briefly...knowing the time was
near...but not this time...for the sound of
the click still hurt...and he must heal
before her words could be read.

Soon my love, soon the courage shall
mount within the veins of man.  And
when it does, a river shall run before
it....as I weep of thee, once more.

I am running out of tissue, BJ...I think I'll have to get another box for I sense the opening of the letter coming soon.  Such a heartfelt work this is, so tenderly penned.   ...jo

tears of pity spring from my heart for love lost and left.  Your work is moving, dear sir.

Thank you Susan...it is easy to write of
things that have been experienced in one's
lifetime to one degree or another....but I
would never blame the other person...for
most all relationships are built or destroyed
by the twain...

working on part 3....perhaps the final part.

Magnus darling man, I didn’t know you’d done a series, this is exquisite. I swear I can feel the suppressed longing within. I love it utterly of course, for you are an artist at this type of thing

The poem is truly wonderful as are you, exceptional writing from one of PiP’s most talented writers.

Off to read the rest xxx
