Dewdrops
as diamonds dangle
from gossamar threads
most intricately woven
with most delicate care

so fragile
this webb of beauty
shimmering in moonlight
as if fairy kissed
most etheral fair

the mistress
dressed in tempting lure
dances devinely in seduction
awaiting guest
to enter her lair

thus caution
oh wayward traveler
do not be decieved
by beauty alone
for danger may be lurking there

What beauty there is in a spider web glistening in the dew, what intrigue you weave with your web of words. Well done!

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Excellent,  reminds me of Charlotte's Web.
Does she perchance have a knife or two
lying around?  I hope not...

Kethry, thank you for your kind words

Barry, knives?  With her fangs, who needs a blade?  One kiss and it's over . . .

Wonderful poem, Susan.  One morning my son and I were out in the country for the weekend.  Our backdoor opened to a meadow.  When we got up just before dawn, the full moon shown down to reveal to us an entire meadow of spider webs, as far as the eye could see.  It was one of the most miraculous things I think I've ever seen (although I've seen many).  Your poem drew out this memory....obviously, I really enjoyed it!   ....jo

Wow, Jo, that would really be a wonderful vision.  I can picture it in my head, but I know it is nowhere near what reality must have been.  Kewl.  Thanks for sharing
