A letter beckons, calling me
seamlessly sealed against the eye of pry.
Unopened, lying there.

From her, the shadow that stood
within my door before the ominous
sound of a latch clicking.

What words might be said by lips so soft
and pure, glistening in their perfection?

What thoughts might be harboring within
the expanse of a mind riding the winds
of love so passionately upon a lathered
steed?

Return to me, my love.  That I might
never have to open the seal of suspense
lying ever quietly before me.

A candle’s wax lazily flows downward
into the once molten puddle.  Replaced
now by memories of passionate entrees.
As wine is swilled the tongue, in taste
of but a nip of you.

And when the light recedes from the
attic window high, I will lie quietly
upon what was our bed, hugging
what was yours as a scent still
lingers.

And a letter will lie forever as I
dream of what was, and not what
is....always.

Beautiful memories....even the scent....can reach way beyond the content of a letter and envelope us in the moment.  BJ, this was so beautifully wistful.   ....jo

Astoundingly poignant and remarkably lovely.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Memories as gentle tear drops stain the pillow in longing for what was to be again and the letter left unopened is the last barrier against the downpour of possible truth.  Sorrow dressed in the sweet, this longing.

Well, that letter may have remained unopen, but my heart certainly will not be after reading a write such as this! Heart Beat

Magnus darling man, Oh my! What can I say but this is utterly divine. Poignant, and wistful, the longing so well portrayed. No-one does romance the way you do romance, and I swear there’s not another writer whose work brings such images to my mind. You have an amazing gift darling man, truly outstanding writing. I love it utterly, utterly, utterly

beautiful Barry....sigh...

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone though you're still with me
I've been alone all along..Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
