Early summer Makes love to Gods no longer worshiped Anointed deep green voices Holding long stemmed roses…red Lifting me along the fog, in girl-like frolic Paying homage to nights when the moon is full Like a movie of discerning passions With a fragrance of mahogany sail boats Bobbing to the music of memorization Life force, gifts a standing ovation Sensitive to the pitter patter of your approach I grew up with love brushing my teeth Meeting my eyes, touching my body’s Slow features and mind Wandering by Venetian waterways With a licensed whirl…centered Spun from pure gold… Never loosing sight of late afternoon light A marriage of consequence and decency Voices caring, airborne and mysterious Shining in appreciative gaze Like drinking from heaven’s pewter Where a gondola maneuvers us expertly Through silken waters of you… An anonymous footstep approaches Perfect in the warm darkness Sliding naked against my soul Against my unbuttoned white camisole Feeling like an old favorite candle You… Explaining the French menu And from that telling moment We became the numbed squeezed hand Of a pathway burning…. I was sold unto your slavery Where we will both pay for our future Deft and subtle as a kitten Curling up unto the silhouette of morning’s due With the right hand side of light Absorbing the left hand side of confessionals Kneeling down…into the nave of a soft plan Called….what is….without question |
