The storm

Lightning across black clouds
makes me alert and I shudder
while thunder pounds in my breast.
In wild speed darkness haunts me
the light zone is quickly erased.

Nature’s power is spellbinding
and my heart races in fascination
I keep the rhythm of the storm,
in the attempt of facing fear
my voice wishes to sing along.

Heavy raindrops hit my shoulders,
do I want to find shelter and flee?
Or do I want to merge with elements?
I feel the clouds lowering to touch me,
their sharp fingers drumming on my skin.

The sky’s concert lingers in the air
as the grey blanket passes over my head
making me its target for a rough embrace.
Tall I stand with outstretched arms,
surrendering to the power of this dance.

When the elements soften their grip,
when thunder turns into a distant murmur,
suddenly the sun breaks through the dark,
with a warm caress as if to wipe my tears,
pouring its brightness into my heart.

And then I am deeply aware of the truth
that all kind of storms can be endured
Life wants us to be open to change
Divine harmony flows through all things
in the end, I know, there is always peace.

there is peace and silence
somewhere
tho the roar of thunder can be so overpowering at times

I love your questioning in this, Margherita.

you have depicted the vascillation of storms and the emotions that rise within the enduring---your words awaken many senses

great job!

BRAVO!!! What a wonderful comparison...I too love storms and can see lifes experiences in them...The storms of life will come creating havoc in our lives but they always leave leaving behind the light of experience and lessons learned....Absolutely beautiful writing...
