in the shadows

Bitter water on the tongue

a path of broken rocks,

sharply jagged bits

of long lost shattered dreams,

and in the end,

the shadows whisper to me gently

nothing's what it seems.

Almost true....some things are what they seem. Finding those and holding on to them is the hardest thing a man can do, on this plane or any other.

Don't you just want to ignore those shadows sometimes?

I like this.  It has much depth and feeling behind such brevity.

Wow!  You sure got this one right, icebox.  To know things aren't what they seem is great but to know what they actually are - well, we just have to wait I guess.

"Druid Memory" ~ I have had a few of them myself! lol Some have been softly whispered while others come through like sharp shards of ragged rocks!

Interesting write!

Icebox, I enjoy the way you write - and better yet, the comments you cause others to emote.  Thank you!

icebox

Everything changes...the path, the rocks, the foot and the way it feels.  Each minute is new.  I guess the best we can do is understand the truth of the changing...and try and go with the flow.  It helps to have a really good pair of sneakers too!

The more things change, the more they don't change at all. It was the same for Druids, as they learned in time.
