of Depression

0 posted 2004-08-06 10:25 AM

Let the sunset kiss the night
As it fades into twilight
While I walk sands of time;
Let the moonrise rise to greet
Not guide my straying feet
Or this wandering mind.
Let me find you not in harm
No new marks stripe your arm
And red razor not in your hand,
Let me return find you whole
Less the tormented soul
When I leave the gritty sand.

Waves crashing in deafening roar
To smooth footprints once more
Erasing my pathway complete;
Will you last for another day
Or be finally slashed away
Never again in the life greet.
I never could protect you
From the things that you do,
The self inflicted pain
Mutilations and delusion
Drug tipped wild emotions,
Spent time and time again.

Your life is yours alone
With each your sins to atone,
You choose self persecution
Shifting from high to low
With swirling winds you blow
Slicing into deep depression.
I can no longer ease the pain
Or force living to remain
To search for some contentment,
So you roll up and then recede
Heal to slice and slowly bleed
Till you’re locked in confinement.

Footprints washed without a trace,
Sand and water switching place
As the mist and tears wet my face.

Gloom

heartwrenching words

I've seen this - you just want to make them stop, make them love themself enough to live, to hope, to dream and they don't want to and/or can't.  So sad this morning...so good to hear your loving words about someone in such pain

This is very telling, very wise, very sad...
It brought a tear to my eye.

I try to see beyond the gloom...

Such expression of tormented times, deepest wounds watching a loved one digress.
