Beneath a willow I lie absorbed, In a book of poetry. I'm carried off, to lands afar, And to worlds of pageantry. Poems of love and romance, They fill me up with pink, While others are inspiring, And cause my mind to think! Some bring tears of sadness, Some bring tears of joy. And poems of high adventure, Make me shout, "Ships ahoy!" These poems stir my imaginings, I rise up from ho-hum days, To times and places, of long ago, ~ It's like living Shakespeare's plays!
