I know about an island where the beaches have no sand.
Where tourists stay away in droves, as often as they can.
Where trouble brews among the crews who come by sea or air,
and often strikes out of the blue, before you're even there.

Discovered way, way, way, back when, around the birth of man,
it may have been forbidden fruit, or snakes with evil plans,
or cavemen running from great beasts, which lumbered in pursuit,
who found it, matters not the least, nor what your chosen route.

The funny thing about this place, is that we've all been there,
at one time or another, brother, BANG!, it hits you square.
You do not have to travel far, believe me this is true,
and though you see it coming there's still nothing you can do.

Goliath may have seen it when young David cast the stone,
and Caesar " et tu Brutae ", who removed him from the throne.
Whenever your itinerary takes you to Duhfan,
you might as well just check out then, or, get a better plan.

The mouse that seeks the piece of cheese and falls into the trap,
he should have travelled to Belieze, instead, the stupid sap,
he booked a 'round the world cruise, first port of call Duhfan,
and bought it when the ship it hit, and whacked that sucker, man.

Sometimes it's un-avoidable, and one must make a stand.
It may not be enjoyable, but, one does what they can.
Survival is an instinct and a basic one at that,
so, jump ship, or confront it, all depending where your at.

The "motto" of this island paradise I call "Duhfan",
you'll know it when the ship has hit, or it's all over, man,
it's "What things do not kill you only make you stronger" see,
and if you're going to make it, I'd say humor is the key.

So take these travel tips I've left, to do with what you can,
the next time you are quite convinced, the ship will hit Duhfan.

You have no idea how much I needed this!  You have a great "bedside" manner!  Loved the poem!

Martie,
You're a sweetheart, but, I beg to differ, I needed to write this at least as much as you may have needed to hear it. Glad you liked.
