Friend

What stands apart the love?
Attraction is the fabric, same is as same does
A somehow less degree escaping to futility
What stands apart the love?

Guardian, ever vigilant near
swift waters as waves roll in.
Shielded by angel wings in flutter
Apart from love, though ever close

The interest is compound
Where twilight's still astound
A somehow less degree, escaping to futility
What stands apart the love?

One who opens a door of listening,
a hand to hold, a tear to dry.
Knowing friendship intertwines
as love’s shadow stands quietly beneath
an umbrella of oak leaves.

One kept warm within the soul
of they who, not alone,  walk their earthen path.
Holding a moment of breath, sharing a thought,
knowing the unspoken known before
a trembling lip softly speaks.

Were it not for the commitments
Should it not beseech admittance
A somehow less degree, escaping to futility.
What stands apart the love?

Never wavering, never wandering.
Speaking not from anger or fear.
Faithful and diligent, guided
onward on a shared course as
a light shines on shoal waters
and love stands faithfully apart.

What stands apart the love?

Thanks K.  you are an inspiration...

Very, very nice.
