Listening to every heart

A Moment of Somewhere in Time

Clever, this instantaneous sentient
which knows, in
avoiding those that are mundane,
shunning customary ticks that walk
our day into night

to know when to clutch this moment of
somewhere in time,
that sense of awe by which to surprise,
blazing sparks that flare and flicker,
sparkle and twinkle, burst into explode…
did it not catch you?

Oh, seize the day, they say,
carpe diem
all the way                  and yet, and yet,

how long shall this blessed moment last,
less than soul’s intake of breath,
earlier than a wink,
breathless as an age held in dust…

as that schism of nerve
tells the hairs on one’s arm
                                              tingle now!

To study the width and breadth
of this, my moment
under your touch

is to know
a moment of        somewhere       in time.

The precious moment lasted long enough to be shared in such amazing way ... I have been pondering over exactly this today and your words confer clarity to my thoughts.

Love, Margherita

KJ,  you floored me when I saw the date of
the first edition, so to speak....Amazing,
isn't it?  And I felt your own feelings as
well...such depth to them...  Love the poem,
loved and still love the movie....and I would
cry through it again....and again... (stock
in Kleenex?)  Perhaps...

Ahhh Karile, you don't know...I was listening to "Somewhere in Time' by Racmaninoff(sp) when I caught you on line this morning (my last night).

A beautiful write indeed. I'm keeping it.

And yet it seems something stands in the way, something that lossens our grip on the day, some oil that makes it slip away.

Hmmmm...all the great words of praise have been used up.  I guess I'll just that your breadth of wordsmithing continues to amaze me. I so enjoy your work.  KJ
