I dreamt I was a poet,
And you were but my pen,
And when I woke I realized
We had journeyed once again.
It seems we sailed to Zanzibar,
Across the Seven Seas,
Danced a dance with Terpsichore,
Upon soft evening’s breeze,
We rode atop a camel’s hump,
Across the desert wide,
To seek the pleasures of a shiek,
With you near by my side,
I plucked a flower from the skies,
Known as the Southern Cross,
And sang to you love’s madrigal,
Upon your heart emboss,
The signature of all I am,
Of all I’ll ever be,
For I am but a mortal man,
Who makes this simple plea
If I were but a poet,
And you were but my pen,
May I take you in my hand,
To sail night skies again,
To quill with you from mountain top
to valley floor below,
The evening star, a Venus bright,
the grace of night’s bestow,
Is what within my hand I’d hold,
As penned your siren’s song,
Together we would scale the heights,
To capture all we long
If were but a poet,
Is all I beg to do,
And if you were but my pen,
I’d make sweet love with you.

Hoot:  thanks for playing again...  still can't seem to find Mike, but what the hay.

This was a challenge?
Where?
Can anyone play?

Or does it belong only to the best of the best?

Either way, I'm enjoying it!

You know, if Mike was around he'd be in awe at how you make my muse sing like he once did...I sure do miss that guy
Anyway, reply forthcoming

Tim, I don't know what to say but simply thanks I feel like that song, you know, "You, you make my heart sing" only in this case it's you make my muse sing

This is incredibly beautiful and touching.

Absolutely held me captivated in the rhythm and lovliness of the words.  Much enjoyed.
