Picking wildflowers always reminds me
of the day you picked my heart from the field,
while vibrant young rosebuds stood looking so fine
you chose a more vintage, classic vine.
It was nearly a divine moment,
for you were choosing
a rare fine wine with which to dine
the heat of a summer night away.

I was sad that you chose not to stay.

But it’s allright,
the memory did.

thankfully the memory does stay when the
moment must end;

Rosebuds may blossom and bloom but then they
fade away ~ but a good vintage wine like yourself, only gets better!

Midnitesun,
  How can one transform a happy moment so quickly to sadness?  Oh, if we could only pick and choose which times we could accelerate.  Enjoyed.

Hey ladies, thanks for your time and gentle replies!
As I sip a glass of Chardonnay, I think of all the wildflowers and the free wandering vines, and am happy I am not a rose.
