summers hill held out her hand so full of colour and life
Roses, grass, and daffodils wait kiss of warmth and light
Scattered down beneath the ground lost souls lay bounded.

Unseen tomb of frail hopes and dreams reach out
To comfort dying crushed petals
the children play above and linger in the beauty
Destroying all that age laid out.

Dancing with crumbling statues of warriors unnamed in time
Engraved aged names worn out
Once stood these men so full of blood and pride
Their lasting wish to be remembered through the passing ages.

Now all the children see is elven eyes sat upon the real tales
And pixies on the flowers of many fragrant scents
Then dragons from the clouds above burning all of them
Not brave young men that died unknown.

Dear Lee, this is beautiful! You caught the atmosphere so well.

Children know instinctively what really counts .... death is not perceived as the end. There are new beginnings, always.

Love, Margherita

This is a great poem. I looved the theme and the mood.

Always a fan,

This is one of your finest! Fantasy with a dash of realism thrown in for good measure!

Your imaginative and creative mind is a beautiful thing to behold!

Good to read you again, Lee!
