Across the sands on knees and hands
Scraping skin till pains blends agony,
With all sight so very bright
White hot Sun bakes over done agony
Eyes shut so tight to protect from light
As ever crawls, slides, and falls agony

Can I still dream?
Longing for the pools of reality’s moistness,
A flowing stream
Wetting that cools with fantasy’s darkness.

I lay
In the heat of day
Eyes shut tight all the way
Motionless.

Is the dream a death
Have I used all my breath
Or will a shadow drip upon me
Searing in a sandy agony.

Wow, very poignant.

Sunshine
I hope you don’t mind too much
My using the sun as an antagonist.

Thank you, Susan
Pleased you enjoyed

Thank you, Nightshade,
I have designs on a chilled wine,
A sweet white one.
Glade you liked the poem.

This is one I wish I could hear you read.
It leaves me worn and tired just reading.
Yeah... life is agony.
Wonderful poem.

Thank you, GG
I appreciate the thought
But I don’t think my voice lends to it,
I have been at venues where I’ve read my poetry
Here in Baltimore,
But not recently,
But if we are talking Transportation and Lodging
I am always open to negotiation.

Thank you, Iliana
I didn’t have quite that of an extreme in mind
But I get the drift you liked it,
That pleases me.

No, Sir, not at all...you're just speaking truth...

Perhaps I need to go hide behind a cloud?

Sunshine
that would be a travesty
to hide you behind a cloud.

I on the other hand
prefer the clouds

Oh, sometimes, when I hide behind them, Professor, I illuminate their own glory....
you've seen moments like that, I'm sure!
