Weep For The Moon
By Paul Wilson

Sadness covered the world tonight
as lovers throughout the land cried
Their tears were such a sad, sad sight
shed for the lovers moon…that died

Lost forever tender moments shared
by lovers in moons enchanting glow
Love died tonight and no one cared
or maybe… they just didn’t know

Falling stars wished upon by all
have lost their way in dark of night
No more tender moments to recall
as lovers moon fades out of sight

Lovers moon died a sad death tonight
i’m told from a broken heart
Teardrops washed away it’s soft light
from this world...so I too will depart

oh no, did something happen while I was asleep?
just kidding, Paul

what a dreadful thought, no moon???
even the twinkling stars aren't a real substitute for what that ol moon man does for me

My, this was hauntingly sad, beautiful.

The moon is still very much alive, and quite large in the early morning sky, Paul...it's not going anywhere for a long, long time...

Touching write .... our moon must have an incredible memory in his core of all the sighs sent out to him!
The connection is felt deeply in your words.

Paul

Just now I am waiting to see my first glimpse of tonights full blue moon...I know it will be here...the sky is clear and my eyes also.

Enjoyed this poem of yours, and a different look at the subject.

Paul,
This truly is an excellent write of a melancholy thought. Well done.

Paul, this is such an enchanting poem. A poem of such stunning imagery that, though it is about one who suffers a broken heart, it is a captivating piece.
