When people ask the reason
for things that make me cry
I turn around and tell them
sometimes there is no why

At times there's only sorrow
so deep that I could die
and grief too deep for sobbing
that never questions why

When overwhelmed by darkness
that makes me fail to try
I cannot find the answers
and do not wonder why

sometimes  with night descending
I merely give a sigh
and hold tight to my sorrow
till this has passed me by

But people need their reasons
when I begin to cry
and so there come the questions
Where does it hurt and why?

I do not have those answers
so why not let me be
and hold me by acceptance
for this seems wise to me

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
