Most times
a poem is a passing feeling,
at best, fleeting.

Begetting stanza
before retreating.

Built upon through
experience or imagination.

(I wonder of the feelings
spent on you).

If we were to start over,
from the beginning
would the outcome be the same?

Or would we have been together all these years
in-between?

Would it have made us different;
less or more?

Would it have changed
where we are?

"I am really happy we found each other again,"
were your words to me.

And what wasn't then
seems to have begot
the new begin.

"cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind"
~Sarah McLachlan~

Very nice.  I like the comparison.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

I'm not sure things can ever be the same...or have the same outcome...but new beginnings are nice (but not with old endings)

love your poem here Susan

I have asked myself these questions...
makes you stop and think, eh?
Love this Susan, well done!

And poems beget more than stanzas ... the ripples in the reader "beget" new "beginnings" from what may not have yet been imagined.  Something beautiful, unexpected, and only possible when there is another ... thank you for these!
