Midnight Love

On a gentle summers night
reclining on sands still warm
from heat of a cloudless day
her heart drifts into sweet dreams
watching the moon slowly rise

Evening filled with magic
that brings a silent figure
strolling slowly towards her
makes her heart begin to beat
in time with the breaking waves

As he sits down beside her
heat radiates from his skin
scorching her from his nearness
and bringing a gasp from lips
wishing to taste loves nectar

With strong arms enfolding her
she melts into his embrace
deaf to the sounds of nature
sipping from the burning cup
of deep passions that flame bright

While the full moon gazes down
a man and woman embrace
and share the sweetness of night
caressed by the gentle breeze
as sighs escape smiling lips

Blending with gentle lapping
of the ocean waves breaking
on the golden sands of time
midnight love reflects quiet
serenity of spirits

Karen, if this isn't a sigh waiting to happen
then I don't know what is!
Wonderful write...you have indeed been missed.

Very romantic, this.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments.... You all inspire me so much that I find myself drawn to read more and more. I hope to make more time to visit these blue pages and indulge myself with my favorite writers.

Jamie, dear friend, I am so glad to hear that you are following your desire to return to school. You know when I went back it was much more fun when I was older...letter on the way. **hugs**

this is so as the ocean I know, without the metaphoric man...though, he's there and not afraid to seek what he wants, like the ocean, agreesive at times, with true reverance.
