It’s just the Piano in me

It is most out of tune
this song
a gate to my despair
sharp and flat at once
and middle C is stuck
it's just not there

I never realized the importance of one key
until I could no longer play it
and now it's too late

I will never play that song again

~ a poignant piano poem...

But you, Dear Marti, have a whole orchestra within your poetic soul.

Some tunes will play themselves without our knowledge or consent.
Well written.  KJ

who can say then, even knowing
     that the last song nears
and playing is an act of love now,
     a giving back for honor
     just a few notes more,
     a few notes more, until

Keep playing, even if only for love. Who knows who will be listening?

This reminds me of something my piano teacher told me once.  Let's see if I can remember the word she used--I think it was "vocalize."  To ask the tuner to vocalize the felt.  (Now if I'm right about her wording, that phrase could be very telling in itself.  As for the procedure(to my understanding), the tuner very carefully plucks strands on felt to get a better sound.

I enjoyed the depth of this and hope that the song can be transposed to a different key.  Good luck to you.

ms M..the key is still in the same place
it never moves
just sounds change

and you can always make another song
with different sounds?

this was interesting...enjoyed it

the symphonies played never stay the same, but if we are patient, taking long looks, we can find the key of good sounding music in every concerto, which your entire soul missy is made of....you Martie dear are strengh, eagerness and a marvel.

Time to see the "Piano Man"
for we must always have your song.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Just an old fashioned love song,
Now just played in the key of "G"
Just an old fashioned love song,
You once could play in the key of "C"
