Storms Reflection

Menacing clouds roll closer building in size
as blue skies dwindle and birds fly to safety
Heavy laden with power and black as ink
the sky awaits in an unearthly silence

A streak of lightning leaves a trail of brilliance
that can not be captured by photo or paint
Thunder gains volume vibrating off the soul
and we wait the fury of the coming storm

Again lightning flashes leaving jagged marks
illuminating a man and woman’s form
Standing in shelter protected from the rain
embraced as lovers sharing private feelings

Shadow and light are reflected off this pair
seeing natures power prepare to release
Each lightning flash reveals more of this couple
eyes reflecting the passion of their feelings

It makes one ponder lightning and thunder matched
as man and woman embraced in loves power

It is great to read you again.
I couldn't help but see Michael and Mary in this write, bracing against their personal storm, son Chris standing nearby.
I am in need of a hanky right now.
Beautiful write, just hit me in the solar plexus.

Your words make the picture of events shine, The flash of lightning illuminating the lovers, and the thunder of human passion
raising higher than the decibels of the storm.
...Love the way your language rolls of the tongue, a poem to read out loud ..

Hi Karen,  you pen it well...all of the
emotions,  the brilliance of lightning,
the rolling thunder that draws two lovers
ever closer together...your touch has not
diminished,  nor will it.

Indeed...the power of love can be like a storm...the intensity and the feelings that are so powerful.  Good to see you posting!
