“Drops puzzled the window
Into fractured bit of view
Not quite
gathered into the whole just left a
Distorted haze of impressionism
I chose to ignore
And instead traced an absent line
Where the white of where strap was
Met the browner tones of pale
Unexposed
As it was to the sun and sight
Till I began to write
Words on your skin “

Old leather journals draw mold
And I can only remember then… such days as began
And ended in soft scribblings on off white sheets

Yet when it rains still
I think of how the expanse of soul bared to me
Along with the pleasures tasted
                                                    Have left me here
To ponder
                     The yearn inside for more
Than just the surface scratched world
Day to dayed inside

I turned a page

“More than once indeed I have felt
the movement of that inside
which some might say is soul
other heart, still I feel there is something missing
and I wander on to the next hope
wanting to be sure another feels the same
understand the game…. The way life tricks you
the way fools love
                                        blindly”

And I notice it has grown darker still
As clouds tumble in will of nill
On winds heading someplace far from here

But for now
I close again my mind and words
Wrap oilskin tightly back in place
All the while wondering why I keep such things
That show the stains
                       and failings
of speaking in terms of

I

Absolutely an amazing write Ron.  The word pieces falling into place effortlessly, as they often do when you hit that vein within.  Enjoyed as always bud...

Cpat,
My favorite type of poetry is far from romance, however, you write it sooo honestly and wonderfully, how can I avoid reading it?

                  Enjoyed, as usual.

impressionism
..sort of what love is...if you stand way back..you can see this full glorious picture,,,,but up close...its just a bunch of dots (and dots sometimes can be hard to decipher)LOL

i find i appreciate love more when i have the space to step back and enjoy it from a distance.

and as always, ive enjoyed reading YOU

and split beyond these shards of glass
lies a prism scattered from mistakes
gathered closely together upon the face
that shows the light and the dimmer side
clear pain broken in un-silvered mirror
where tucked in a facet could be diamond

Is it blindly?  Or is it, actually your tender soul feeling something that was never there before?  I can't help but ponder that myself...Ron, this was richly filled with wonder, discovery, questions and life's circle

Beautifully done.

just as long as you write them........
please dont ever stop.

love it all, Cpat, but especially :

“More than once indeed I have felt
                          the movement of that inside
which some might say is soul
other heart, still I feel there is something missing
and I wander on to the next hope
wanting to be sure another feels the same
understand the game…. The way life tricks you
                          the way fools love
                                                                  blindly”

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
