Surreal bitter imagery
Holds my tongue inside
Rumors whisper alongside hearts
Offering striking attacks
Protesting assassins
Dismantling passion
Merciless insanity
Tolerates injustice
Steelworkers crawling on flesh
Of minds and mouth
Noise emanates hysteria,
Clotting intimacy
Ravenous collaborations with tyrants
Being sold on video
Streams the bull of ineptitude
Dishonesty becomes a natural tributary
Articulate images and gust of winds
Knowing the seeds of destruction
Medals of Honor being lost
Eyes turning grey
With Fascist bullets
Jagged glass ripping the soil of fidelity
Brown mouths spit out sandpaper monsters
Raising generations of vacant eyes
Smells of heartbreak, rape, madness
Becomes views and opinions
of American Idols
Sickly media waving crowbars
Of suggestion boxes
Valkyrie a collaboration
Of Defense…
Wondering whose files will gain voice & visions
Side-shows of optional subtitles
Growing political fleas
West Nile Virus, a willful ignorance
Marketing...Undisciplined echoes....imperialists
And I, here expressing myself,
Wondering how long until the mess up
When McCarthyism sits at our dinner tables
Teaching hip hop gamblers how to play
And all the while, we thought we were doing fine
Wondering if it were all merely bad decision?
Maybe there’s something more to the ol woman screaming......
“I fell down and I can’t get up?”
as the wolves rip her throat out!

Guess we can't ignore potential health threats like West Nile virus but I agree, this kind of media focus just doesn't cut it for me when millions in other countries are still dying of starvation and dysentery. I believe the odds are greater of being hit by a drunken/drugged driver on the highway than from any creature bite.
As always, I really enjoyed the boldness of your pen, Lee. You never tiptoe around the issues.
