one of my favorite paintings

When MP3 (the reading was done before i did a bit of reworking on the piece)

"Flaming June" by: Frederick Leighton
when...

when will the ache
the twist that
binds my heart
my need
slowly unravel
to reveal
the shadow is
no longer on
the wall
of memory and hope
but here
under the sheets
against my back
within the safety
of your arm
tightly wrapped
around all the
nightmares
that came before
you

tell me....
            when
oh night!
i fall into your hands
this dream i wish to
never end ... where he to me
and i to him, let tangle
limb to limb
and dream, perchance to find
within the mist of whisper's
kiss
laid upon the shivering
silver skin
by lips... oh lips they touch
the rise and fall of breath
... oh moon.. .. just tell me..
when

Wish I could hear it, I'll have to have my husband help me when he's home again.  But the words read beuatifully.
