A moment jeweled its beveled beaches
Picked up and carried in the tune of June
To blow the colored kites into the skies
Marked in feathered white just brushed delight
The breeze becomes a plummet of the tune of autumn
Where I have brought collected cares and fought them
Here, unpacked and let be free, to float away from me

And here, I stretch on sandy radiant, the heat a higher gradient
To soothe too tired smile, caress the aching farthest mile
In quiet at the lullaby of surf, net plenty at the shores of worth
Where colors fall in juice and jam to bounty all
Soon, so soon the fragrant spring will run, time kissed by sun
To quench mid summer in reprieve, a time to gather up each leave
And stay…

Fall harder into something kept away
Brought farther in a climax given gold, a warmth against the cold
That lingers further than the eyes comprise horizons dale
Enthralled in visions of our ship set sail, enrapt to face you now
Against the sands of time to bow, and watch the sunrise in your eyes
Locked into tunes we orchestrate and sing besides
The first of times that brought you man, a virgin still to this new land
Where I have touched my womanhood, this gift I never understood
Until this shore, forevermore, reached out in slender hand so good
And brought the autumn air to take such care, and leave my mind new could

Yes, what jo said.

  Susan

p.s. speaking of kites, you should see the wind surfers in the even glow of the sun at Hood River on the Columbia sometime -- their sails darting about in the wind as they glade, slide and flip along the water.  Incredibly stunning.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
