Feather light, as eyes look into the mind.
Fingers sliding across letters...in search of
a word...one which has the rhythm,   the
right touch of feel.  The power that steals
one’s soul.

Searching,   twirling the quill of feelings
so deep into the vast abyss, stirring the
blackened pot of an inkwell.  Awaiting
the strumming of a harp’s strings...

Candles burning ever dim as the night
absorbs the oils of past twelve.  Flickering
flames skip the walls as imagined Belles
dance into the dawn.

A sigh, a shudder...a soft, wet tumbling tear
falling gently upon the parchment, creating
a pool to mingle the darkened ink...pondering
a step into twilight.

Leave to me the gift of heart, the passion of
words which when cast upon the seas bring
forth the winds...winds which swirl a lock,
squint an eye....as a lighthouse guards the
breach.....and a poet ponders that which
a red sky leaves upon the tips of fingers
lightly tapping keys...evermore.

Barry, I am not sure which word it was that you, Poet, found which has touched me so deeply with this poem (I think, perhaps, all of them)....but I am touched.  This is phenominally lovely verse!   ....jo

"winds which swirl a lock,"

I nod here. It's alot like that for me too.

Some calm place that isn't forced, but tumbles and everything is open and free.

I always enjoy your work, Barry. Such grace, such grace you pen...

It is after midnight and here I am.  Just had to read this one again; you have pegged my musing perfectly.  Makes me wonder if we all go through a similar process.   ....jo

Magnus,
I'm stumped--can't figure out which of you many poems I like best.  You're such a master!  I love this.

I always feel when I read your words that I am wrapped in velvet and laying upon silk, such beauty enfolds me.  You indeed are gifted, sir.  Much enjoyed this.
