Damn it's cold outside,
But I got summer
breezin' through my mind.
I'm swaying to a beat
found deep
where me and John Lee
often meet,
In the moments lulling
on the back's of hours
when im left alone
to heal my soul
and bring the blues
to soles of my shoes;
tap dancin' the glory
on that golden path.
The one that always
feels a little less alone
when his guitar
is singin' us home,
and freedom is dancing
on ends of apron strings.

his voice seems to bridge the gap in time...and still bring a deeper meaning to what is already beating inside.

Damn, i feel some things all the way to the bone.

Like i suppose many of us do

thanks Martie, for finding it uplifiting

Gosh, it's good to read you again! Reading your poem was a delightful way for me to start my day!

I could really feel your mellow-Jello mood!

I'm a just dancing the blues away with those blues!

For the love of John Lee!

Made me smile, dawn.

I'm kind of a blues fanatic, and you had me tapping my foot and humming, "a-haw-haw-haw-haw"!

(I'm sure I looked quite mad just bursting out into song like that too!)

See what you do?

I know, I know, we can blame it on John Lee!

(he wears these great shoes, too, y'ever notice?)

This has a lovely jazzy , upbeat feel to it but should 'were' in the beginning of line five be 'where'?

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I am loving the fact that I betca I listened to him before you were even born, and darned if we are both not still quite fasionable.

Yup, this era of musicians can get your innerds thumping like no other, and Dawn, you actually had a beat going with these words creating a tune - so you did him proud.
