This Quip

On this quip or ship of life
I steer by lodestone of my wife
Chase horizons never there
Through the rainbow and nightmare

It seems forever morning’s fate
To search the days of mornings wait
Loaded down with weights of clay
No mater how I neigh or bray

I charge into the paradox
On coffee bagel and some lox
Shade the sun from overheat
And go about my daily beat

And low the day comes to end
Slows my rack of pain and bend
To raise my fain of argosy
To find my vain of ecstasy

And thought I pan this addict gold
I fear my mind is getting old.

But in my old I find more bold,
or at least the beast of me is stayed;
so I write of lox, then paradox,
and poets come, leaving hugs in box...

Coffee?  Does this mean no more tea?
What am I to do by myself in the mornings?
Oh...you will have a cup.  Great!  I'll pour.
And Sy?
You.... old?
NEVER!!

Sy,
Old? You?  Your poetry, whether with a few hints of melancholy or simply vibrant, it smiles a happy rhythm behind a man with crisp thoughts.  Have a great day, Sy!
