In Memory Of My Dad...Warren "Newie" Wallace Who Passed Away July 23, 1994.

This picture was taken today.  My name and my sisters names are engraved in the open Bible there.

Chasing The Wind

Ever so softly my mind found you as if you were here
Then, ever so sadly I was reminded of the last ten years
So briefly you were with me in my wishing state of mind
And, ever so beautifully but ever painfully you shined...

Cause, I'm somewhere between seeing your face again is what I'm living for
Yet, seeing your face makes me miss you more
So, I'm chasing your memory but I'm not sure of where I am
Just trying to gather as much of you, Dad, as fast as I can...

Here in this world of never again will I be the same
I'm living proof of a father's absence and a life it changed
I am still chasing your eyes that used to dance when you'd smile
And, giving anything, just anything, to see it a while...

I've roamed the aisles of grieving but I cannot forget
I linger where peace just hasn't reached me yet
I'm still chasing the sound of your voice in sweet replay
Over and over, every minute, every hour, everyday...

I'm always on my knees but viewed as standing tall
But, really, my heart just doesn't get up at all
I'm still chasing what used to be in it's truest of light
Waiting, still waiting, under tear stained nights...

Oh, how often I reach for you in dawn's early glow
Eyes open to a new day still praying you didn't go
Mostly, I'm still chasing the wind you went home on, Dad
Still asking, always asking, God, to give you back...

Saundra

Oh if only he could, but we are still here with the pain and longing with you

*hearthugs*

It's been three years for me. My dad passed July 19...I missed him so bad I googled him--he still wasn't there.

It won't stop me from looking for him tho.

Hugs you.

You made me realize that the world is full of broken hearted people.

I've often wondered who would be taking care of my parents' graves as I live so far away - but they both decided that because their own seeds were scattered, that cremation was probably the right choice.

Perhaps that is why I listen to the wind so much...

Your father really likes this poem, Saunni...

Your father must have been an incredible person ~ and his daughter appears to be just like him...

I was deeply affected by your eloquence and the depth of your ever-lasting love for your father.

Loving hugs,
