  Passing through the Chicken Barn at the County Fair

Part 1:

      “Look at the chickens-they’re as big as me!”
                   (turkeys)
          “See the pheasant, Johnny!”
                   (chicken)
       “Look Sweetheart, there’s a turken!”
                   (rooster)

         They stand in amazement
           at the brown egg
             Caged with hen.

   Part 2:

              Above the pen
              Paces Bacon
              Without days egg;
              Clucks aching
              (from seeing well rounded crowd?)

I'll never look at the fairgrounds in a normal way, again.

Well done!

cute write....brings back memories....when we used to travel and my kids were young and we'd see a herd of cattle, I'd tell me kids it was a herd of Great danes....In Tennessee, the cattle grazing on hillsides, I'd convince my kids those cows have shorter legs on one side so they could stand straight on hillsides and graze....My son saw a herd of sheep and told me "Look Dad, a herd of poodles"....
